Fractional Chief Growth Officer
An expert in your corner, at the leadership table.
You don’t need another vendor. You need someone who sees the whole picture, owns the growth plan, drives the Ai, and walks with you while you become the leader you were meant to be.
01 · A story you might recognize
“And then we all get busy.”
When I first sat down with the team at a manufacturing company we work with, they weren’t a struggling company. They’re a real manufacturer with real customers, real products and a real reputation. Good people who are great at what they do. If you’d asked them how business was, they would have told you it was fine.
But underneath fine, things were quietly leaking. Leads were coming in through the website and nobody was seeing them. Not because anyone was lazy, but because nobody owned that inbox, and everybody assumed someone else was watching it. Their Google profiles had never been claimed. The last post on their profile was 33 weeks old. Their website did its job a few years ago, and hadn’t really been touched since.
None of that was a secret to them. They’d talked about fixing it more than once. And one of the owners said the thing I’ve now heard from almost every founder I’ve ever worked with:
And then we all get busy. And then nobody really does it.
One of the ownersI think it’s the most honest description of how growth actually dies in a good company. It doesn’t die because of a bad decision. It dies because everyone is busy doing their real job, and growth isn’t anyone’s real job.
02 · Be honest
Who owns growth in your company?
For most founders I talk to, the answer is “me, I guess.” Which really means nobody.
You’re already running the business, leading the team, putting out the fires and showing up for your family. Growth gets whatever is left of you at 10 o’clock at night.
So you hire an agency. A marketing person. You buy the tools, maybe a course. And every one of them owns a piece. But nobody owns the whole thing. Nobody decides what happens first. Nobody is accountable for whether any of it turned into customers. Every report comes to you, and every decision waits on you.
You’ve probably thought about hiring a full-time head of growth. But a good one is expensive, takes months to find, and most aren’t Ai-ready either. That’s the gap a Fractional Chief Growth Officer fills.
03 · What a CGO actually is
An agency is a hammer. A CGO sees the whole house.
A Chief Growth Officer owns growth across the whole business: your product, your marketing and your sales, all pointed at the same aim and moving in the same order. Fractional means you get that leader part time, at a fraction of the cost, starting now instead of six months from now.
A typical agencySells you its piece
- Owns one channel: the SEO, the ads or the posts
- Reports on its own piece
- Everything’s a nail for its hammer
- You decide what happens first, alone
- Accountable for activity
A Fractional CGOSits above all the pieces
- Owns the whole growth plan: product, marketing and sales
- Decides what gets done, in what order, and by whom
- Makes your current agency and team better, or shows you the numbers
- Drives the Ai and builds your foundation
- Accountable for whether it worked
04 · When someone finally owns it
Things start moving. Fast.
When growth finally had an owner at that manufacturer, we rebuilt the website, got their visibility working on Google and in the Ai answers their buyers were starting to use, and built it so a change to the site is now an Ai prompt, done in about ten minutes.
But the numbers aren’t my favorite part of that story. My favorite part is what that owner said after.
“I’m just so glad you did this while we were busy.”
05 · In your corner
What we do at the table.
It starts the way everything we do starts: by getting real. Then we build your Command Center and take the growth plan off your plate.
Get real
The audit, then a deeper strategy call. Four scores, one core constraint, a plan you can see.
Build your Command Center
Vision at the top, a scorecard of the numbers that matter, and this quarter’s priorities in knock-down order.
Own the growth plan
The right thing at the right time, quarter by quarter. We hold it, so you’re not the one chasing it.
Extract the foundation
Your customer, your voice, your frameworks, built into a foundation your Ai and team work from.
Lead the systems
Website, funnel, content, visibility, pipeline and follow-up. We build it, run it, or manage who does.
Hold vendors accountable
Real numbers from your agency and contractors, or an honest call when it’s time to move on.
Train your team
Your people learn to drive the same systems inside XTRACT Ai Labs.
One check-in a month
We look at the numbers together. One meeting that matters, instead of a calendar full that don’t.
06 · Fit
Who this is for, and who it isn’t.
This is for you if
- You’re past the “just get me a website” stage
- You have a real business and a team, or the start of one
- You have a vision of where you want to go
- You’ll tell the truth about where you are
- You’ll invest in yourself, your business and your mission
- You’re mission-led, not just in it for the money
It isn’t for you if
- You want someone to promise rankings by Friday
- You need to stay the hero of every decision
- You want a yes-man. Part of this job is pushing back, and I’ll do it.
Ego is the bottleneck in more businesses than any software ever will be. I know, because it was the bottleneck in mine.
07 · How it starts
Dating, not marriage.
We don’t start with a contract.
Get real
Take the Ai-readiness audit. Five minutes, and useful on its own.
Apply for a call
We look at your scores together and find the core constraint. You leave with a plan either way.
Your first 90 days
If it’s a fit, we build your first 90 days together.
You won’t find a price on this page, and that’s on purpose. A five-person company and a fifty-person company need very different levels of support, and I’d rather show you a real number on a real call than a made-up one on a web page.
08 · Questions
Questions founders ask.
“How is this different from hiring an agency?”
An agency executes its piece. A CGO owns the whole plan, decides what gets done in what order, and is accountable for the result. We can do the work, run your agency, or both.
“Do I have to fire my agency or my marketing person?”
No. Most of the time we make them better by pointing their work at the right target. If they’re not doing the work, we’ll show you the numbers and you decide.
“How much of my time does it take?”
More up front, while we extract what’s in your head and build the foundation. After that, it’s one monthly check-in and quick approvals. The whole point is to get you out of the middle.
“Why isn’t the price on the site?”
Because a five-person company and a fifty-person company need very different levels of support. We’d rather show you a real number on a real call.
By application
Let's see if this is a fit.
Thirty minutes. We look at your business together, find the core constraint, and you leave with a plan whether you work with us or not.
